Stampede Rumble Towards Season- Sign Three More Players2013-08-14
Stampede announce their NSHL League Schedule. In addition, have added three players- Alseney Bangoura(Montreal, Quebec), J.P Picard (Mascouche, Quebec), Jake Orlando (Seneca Falls, New York)
The Syracuse Stampede have announced their 2013-2014 NSHL Regular Season schedule. They are set to play a 40 game league schedule, not including non-league games or playoffs. To start league play, the Stampede will travel to Jersey Shore to face the Wildcats September 21st weekend. Their home opener is scheduled for September 27th against the Wilkes Barre Miners.
As the season starts to grow closer, the Stampede have made some additions, signing three more players. Joining the team are J.P Picard, Alseny Bangoura and Jake Orlando.
J.P Picard (Mascouche, Quebec) joins the Stampede having spent the summer training and playing for the Quebec Junior Hockey Aces. J.P spent his winter season with Georges Vanier in the LHPS. As a power forward, Picard will use his physcial play and stregth to impose his will on opponents. The Stampede will look to J.P to contribute right away.
Alseny Bangoura (Montreal, Quebec) also joins the team having spent the sumer with the Quebec Junior Hockey Aces. He spent his previous season playing for Federation L'est. A high level defensemen, Bangoura comes to the Stampede with strong offensive ability and a great mind for the game. Alseny is expected to jumpstart the high powered Stampede offense from the back end, while playing feisty passionate hockey in his own zone.
Jake Orlando(Seneca Falls, New York) comes to the Stampede as one of the younger members of the team. Jake has spent the summer dedicated to hockey, allowing him to make the next step on to Juniors. He spent last season with Auburn High School, where he will play again this season along with the Stampede. Orlando has big potential and the passion to make major gains this season with the Stampede. He will also be looked to carry his attained skills and leadership back to Auburn HS, where he will lead them under Coach Mike Lowe.
"I am very excited about all three signings,"said Coach Muscatello. "Every player brings something different to the table, which will help our hockey club. In Picard, you have a strong physical forward who likes to grind it out. Alseny plays a vey offensive game from the blue line, and plays a fiesty high energy game to go along with it. Orlando, brings a ton of untapped potential which we are looking to crack open. He has a good head on his shoulders and is expected to bring a high compete level."
The Stampede begin their 2013-2014 Season with training camp August 21st at Greater Baldwinsville Ice Arena.
